Have you ever seen the draw event for a UEFA Euro? They are totally weird and totally boring. Or rather "were" – because to kick off the Euro 2024, we helped Jung von Matt/SPORTS cook up a special kind of spectacle that drew the world's attention to the wonderful city of Hamburg.

Not the draw you're used to, right?

This idea – one of many we worked up as part of the brief – was turned into reality by the talented people at Jung von Matt/SPORTS and went on to win a Grand Prix at the ADC Germany 2024! This is what the jury thought:

The bigger draw turns an event like the final draw, which has usually been a lame affair in the past, into a global event. The city of Hamburg is staged in all its uniqueness: in the middle of the harbour, in view of the Elphie, containers are stacked in a logistical masterpiece to coincide with the draw for the final draw of UEFA EURO 2024. We say: in retrospect, this will have been more exciting than many a first-round match.
